Wish List for Unity Athens!
We welcome your donations of the new or gently used items below. Please check with us before bringing in any “larger” items as we may have already received them or have additional requirements about the item. Also, please arrange a drop-off time with us to ensure someone is at our location — or bring them to Sunday service. Please tag any items with your name so it can be returned to you if it won’t work for us and/or so we can check with you about donating it elsewhere. For all items donated to and accepted by us you can receive a merchandise donation receipt. Please ask for one if it’s not offered.
Current Needs
- Bookcases, good condition, various sizes. Send a photo to us first to inquire, please
- Small, tall tables to serve as sanitation stands
- New face masks, cloth or paper
- Children’s’ area furniture & supplies – see Bre for specifics
- Reams of white, pastels, and ivory paper — 20 to 24 weight – ongoing uses
- Large round “folding” table
- Whiteboard and corkboards in excellent condition. About 2×3 feet preferred
- Microwave cart — clean and excellent condition
- Floor lamps for the CommUnity Room
- Small tables for the CommUnity Room
- Donations toward a second big-screen, high-resolution TV for projection system in sanctuary
- Easy-set-up vendor /display tent for outdoor festivals and events (contact us for specific type)
- Digital thermometers
- Large TV monitor (must be Wi-Fi compatible and have sufficient RAM; contact Rev. Bronte for details before donating)
We appreciate gift certificates from the following:
- Lowes
- Home Depot
- AtHome Store
- Amazon
- Michaels’ Craft Store (please no gift certificates from Hobby Lobby)
- Kroger, Publix, Target or Walmart – we use them for cleaning and food supplies
Please check with us first before purchasing or bringing in any supplies except for monetary donations and gift cards. Monetary gifts toward a needed item are best.
Ongoing
- Used books — uplifting, spiritual, or health-oriented for our used book sales. Good or better condition
- Books or rolls of “Forever” stamps to help us with mailings. No “small denomination” stamps, please
- Artists: Indoor signs and posters for rooms — specific to our teachings
- Holiday decorating teams and ideas: all holidays
- Volunteers to help with middle grade (Uniteen) and high school (IYOU) youth education programs
We are not able to receive:
- Wax candles with wicks
- Plastic eating utensils
- Plastic straws
- Anything made of styrofoam — cups, plates, etc.
- Artificial sweeteners. (Okay to give stevia, raw sugar, honey, agave, etc.)
- Single-use water bottles or other single-use plastics
Note: No food items with peanuts are allowed in our building.
